Areas we cover · From Abohar, Punjab

Wherever the baraat goes

Most of our weddings are a morning's drive from the studio. The rest are a very good excuse.

11 places, and counting

Ask us how far. The answer is usually yes.

Sanju's Payal Studio is based in Abohar, Punjab. We photograph and film weddings in Malout, Fazilka, Sri Ganganagar, Muktsar, Bathinda and Hanumangarh, all within a morning's drive, and we also travel to Ludhiana, Chandigarh and across India for destination weddings.

Every lens has a distance scale, so here's ours. Distances are rough road kilometres from the studio.

Home

Where the studio is, and where most of our weddings still happen.

  1. Abohar

    Punjab · Our home town

We know the halls, the caterers and the shortcuts. We also know which roads flood and where the kinnow orchards catch the morning light. If you're getting married here, come and see us at the studio first.

A morning's drive

Close enough that we arrive before the decorators, and nobody pays for a hotel.

  1. Malout

    Punjab · About 45 minutes

Family fields, long palm roads and winter fog that gives you about forty minutes of the softest light you will ever see.

  2. Fazilka

    Punjab · About 50 minutes

Garden haldis and house weddings with the whole family close enough to interrupt, which is how we like them.

    See Vasu & Mitali

  3. Sri Ganganagar

    Rajasthan · About 1 hour

Just over the state line, with village courtyards, canals and tall grass that turns gold in the last hour of the day.

  4. Muktsar

    Punjab · About 1 hour 15 minutes

Big family weddings with Anand Karaj in the morning and a reception that runs late. We plan the team around both ends of that day.

  5. Bathinda

    Punjab · About 1 hour 30 minutes

Large halls, larger haldis, and Qila Mubarak if you'd like old brick walls behind your portraits. Still close enough for us to come and go in a day.

  6. Hanumangarh

    Rajasthan · About 1 hour 45 minutes

Farmhouse weddings under an open sky, and the old walls of Bhatner Fort for a couple who want something different.

The night before

Further along the road. We come a day early and check the light at your venue, so you won't have to think about us.

  1. Ludhiana

    Punjab · About 4 hours

Grand banquet halls and big guest lists. Indoor light needs real planning, and that is the part we enjoy.

  2. Chandigarh

Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula · About 5 hours 30 minutes

Hotel weddings across the tricity, with Sukhna Lake at sunrise for portraits if you can face the early start.

Anywhere

On a lens, the last mark on the scale means everything further away is in focus too. Same with us. If you can get there, we'll bring the cameras.

  1. Jaipur

    Rajasthan · A favourite for pre-wedding shoots

Pink palace steps and the pigeons at Albert Hall. We go early and wait for the crowds to clear.

  2. Kashmir

Gulmarg and Srinagar · Pre-wedding, in any season

Minus four degrees and a shikara in the mist. Bring gloves for between the frames.
