Booking and prices
How much does a wedding photographer in Abohar cost?
Wedding photography at Sanju's Payal Studio starts from ₹85,000, and photographs with a cinematic film from ₹1,60,000. The final price depends on the number of days, the size of the team and travel.
Is it free to check whether our date is open?
Yes, checking a date is always free. Send us the date and the town on WhatsApp or through the form, and we'll tell you the same day whether we're open. You don't owe us anything until you decide to book.
How early should we book?
Book three to six months ahead if you can. Dates in the November to February season go first, so check your date as soon as it is fixed.
How do we book our date?
You book by saying yes to our written quote and paying the booking amount. We then block the date in our diary and send you everything in writing: the days, the team, what you'll receive and when.
Do you ask for an advance?
Yes, a booking amount holds your date. The amount, and when the rest is due, are written in your quote before you say yes, so nothing comes as a surprise later.
Can we change what is in a package?
Yes, every package can be changed. Add a function, drop the album or take the film on its own. The prices on this site are where packages begin, and your quote lists exactly what you've chosen.
What happens if our wedding date changes?
Tell us as soon as you know, and if we're open on the new date we'll move your booking to it. If we're already taken that day, we'll talk it through with you. What happens in that case is written in your quote.
On the day
How many people will you bring?
Two photographers come for a photographs-only package, and a team of four when you add a film. A larger wedding with several functions at once can take more, and your quote will say how many.
Which functions do you cover?
We cover every function of a wedding: roka, haldi, mehndi, sangeet, the wedding ceremony and the reception. Book the whole celebration or just the days that matter most to you.
Will we have to pose all day?
No, you won't have to pose all day. During the rituals we stand back with long lenses. For portraits we give you somewhere to stand and something to laugh about, and twenty minutes is usually plenty.
Do you stay until the end?
Yes, we stay until you leave. The cameras stay on the floor through the entries, the speeches and the last bhangra, for as long as you do.
Do you offer drone coverage?
Yes, drone coverage is part of our largest package and can be added to the others. Flying depends on the venue allowing it and on local rules, so we check that before the day.
What do you need from us before the wedding?
We need a list of your functions with times and venues, plus the names of anyone who must be photographed. One person from the family to point out relatives on the day helps too.
Photographs, films and albums
When will we receive our photographs and film?
Edited photographs arrive within 30 days and films within 45 to 60 days. Printed albums follow once you have chosen your pictures.
How will we receive our photographs?
You receive your edited photographs through a private download link. Films come the same way, in a size that plays well on a phone and a television. Albums are printed once you have chosen your pictures.
Can we get the unedited photographs?
We deliver edited photographs as standard, because that's the work you're paying for. If you'd like the unedited files as well, ask before the wedding and we'll write it into your quote.
What is the difference between a highlight film and a full film?
A highlight film is the best of the celebration, short enough to watch again and send to everyone. A full film runs through every ritual and speech to the last bhangra, with the real vows and voices.
Do we get to choose the album photographs?
Yes, you choose the album photographs yourselves. We send you the full set, you pick your favourites, and we design the album and show it to you before it goes to print.
Pre-wedding shoots
Do you shoot pre-wedding films?
Yes. Pre-wedding shoots start from ₹45,000 for one day, with a one minute film and 40 edited photographs. We help choose the location and the looks.
Where can we do a pre-wedding shoot near Abohar?
The closest options are the fields and kinnow orchards around Abohar, and old havelis within a morning's drive. Couples also travel with us to Jaipur for its palaces and to Kashmir for snow. Tell us what you like and we'll suggest a place.
What should we wear for a pre-wedding shoot?
Wear two looks that feel like you: one traditional and one you would really go out in. Strong colours stand out against fields and old walls. Send us your options beforehand and we'll help you choose.
We are nervous in front of a camera. Will that be a problem?
No, nearly everyone is nervous for the first ten minutes. After that you're just two people having a day out, and we keep our distance. The first hour is usually about getting used to us.
How long before the wedding should we shoot?
Shoot at least six weeks before the wedding if you can. That leaves time for the edit, so the film is ready for your sangeet screen and the photographs can go on your invitation.
Travel and the studio
Do you travel outside Abohar?
Yes. We regularly shoot in Fazilka, Malout, Muktsar, Bathinda, Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh, and we travel for destination weddings and pre-wedding shoots such as Jaipur and Kashmir.
Do you charge extra for travel?
Weddings within a morning's drive of Abohar don't need a hotel, which keeps travel small. Further away, your quote lists travel and stay as separate lines, so you can see exactly what they cost.
Do you shoot destination weddings?
Yes, we travel across India for weddings and pre-wedding shoots. We have worked in Jaipur and Kashmir, and we plan the trip around your functions. Send us the place and dates for a quote.
Can we visit the studio in Abohar?
Yes, you can visit our studio in Abohar, Monday to Sunday from 10 am to 8 pm. Call or message us first so we can have albums ready to show you and make sure Sanju is there.
Which languages do you speak?
We speak Punjabi, Hindi and English. Use whichever is easiest for you and your family, on the phone, on WhatsApp and on the day.
